Vietnam Art Collection (VAC) is a non-profit art organisation based in Hanoi and New York, stewarding a collection of Vietnamese arts ranging from modern masters of the Indochina period to emerging artists of current time. VAC’s initiative centers around two core programs: Art-iFact – a research-based archival project that serves as a digital platform to amplify the voices of artists in and from Vietnam, and LAUNCH – an alternative support program tailored to the Vietnamese art community. VAC aims to foster a healthy ecosystem where local artists, curators, writers and creatives can grow and thrive.

Its notable activities in 2024 include the opening of a new space in Shanghai with the exhibition “A Beginning: Launching VAC Shanghai”. In April, VAC Travel Workshop 1.0 took place in Hong Kong with the participation of artists Trịnh Cẩm Nhi and Mai Tạ. Trịnh Cẩm Nhi’s residency at VAC later resulted in two events: the project “Hanoi, 06.2024” in collaboration with Hà Ninh Phạm in June, and the open studio event “White Night” in July. At the end of 2024, the open studio event “peace is a white room” showcased the individual works of artists Mai Tạ, Nhi Lê, Mr. Bambii, and Liên Phạm.

HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.

Entering its 6th year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest aims to go beyond an annual honouring event to become a contemporary archive of Vietnam’s art and cultural landscape, as well as a foundational platform to promote interdisciplinary collaborations both domestically and internationally, towards an open, fair, and transparent ecosystem.

This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2024-2025 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition. Nominations are selected based on sets of criteria that aim to highlight the developmental significance and scale of impact, including activity level, community impact, creativity, organisational capability and artistic quality.
