From the organizer:

Join us on Wednesday night, June 25, for an audiovisual & baritone saxophone electronic performance with artist Ania Reynolds, marking the conclusion of her residency with us at A. Farm.

In her latest project, Ania develops an ongoing series of works that explore the sonic identity of places — now Ho Chi Minh City during monsoon season. Starting with an audio-visual experimental performance “Saigon Dreaming”, the artist invites people to drift into an uncanny realm crafted from the urban soundscape. Ania layers distorted sound and negative visual footage of field recordings with self-composed piano melodies, juxtaposing overwhelming streams and absence of human presence to shed light on the non-humans. “Saigon Dreaming” listens to sonic fragments, such as raindrops, sutra chants, honks, and street vendors’ calls, as ripples of daily life patterns that have become a performance of urbanization.

Following an ethereal experience in “Saigon Dreaming” is a playful combination of Ania’s rich baritone saxophone electronic mixtape with new stimulating visual streams. Ending the night with an interactive jamming session with special local musicians, the stage is open to everyone. All instruments welcome – traditional, contemporary, acoustic, electronic, or spoons, buckets, anything can create a sound!
