This artist talk centers on Lâm Na’s artistic practice with found objects—ranging from prehistoric relics and fragments to childhood memories and layered narratives of reflective pasts, interwoven with an invisible connection to ancient humans. The conversation will expand on issues of heritage, preservation, and the challenges of approaching contemporary art as a mode of engaging with heritage—alongside ways ancient objects might be interpreted within the ongoing flow of time.
Drawing from these materials and inspirations, the talk will open up the contexts and creative ideas behind the ongoing program Open Studio: It’s Been Many Years Since We Last Met at VAC.
Following the talk, artist Lâm Na will guide an exhibition tour (art tour).
This event is part of a residency collaboration between the Artist-in-Residence Vietnam Network (AiRViNe) and the Vietnam Art Collection (VAC), featuring artist Lâm Na.
