The Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum
66 Nguyễn Thái Học, Ba Đình, Hà Nội

From the organizer:

Trained in fine arts in Hanoi during the 1980s, Nguyễn Như Đức relocated to Hội An in 2014, where the ancient town became his second homeland and the fertile ground for his visual language to mature. Under the pseudonym Đức Bẹt, he developed a deeply personal practice — balancing a modest life with a quietly persistent creative process.

After the passing of his mother in Hội An, his practice underwent a transformative shift: painting became a sacred act of remembrance — a way to honor the presence and emotional legacy of his mother, wife, and daughter. From this emotional terrain, Mother Land emerged as a long-form, introspective body of work.

Comprising more than 30 works created over five years, the exhibition centers on the recurring motifs of the maternal figure, the domestic realm, and the human hand — rendered as a primal, symbolic language of care, shelter, and unspoken connection.

“In Đức’s work, the hand is more than anatomy — it is a vessel of memory, of protection, of love before language.”

Silart Station is honored to present the debut solo exhibition of Nguyễn Như Đức (Đức Bẹt) — a quietly profound artistic journey rooted in instinct, memory, and the sanctity of family.

The exhibition will then continue in Ho Chi Minh City.
