TPD cordially invites you to a screening of Tsai Ming Liang’s “The Hole” and a discussion on the director.

Born in Malaysia, Tsai Ming Lang grew up there and did not move to Taiwan until he was at the age of 20 to start his career. Up until now, he has received many prestigious award from many international film festivals.

Tsai Ming Liang, together with Hou Hsiao Hsien and Edward Yang, are considered the most outstanding film directors in the “New Wave” of Taiwancinema. Like Hou and Yang’s, Tsai’s movies draw a full picture of the modern society through the eyes of people at the working class. Among the three, Tsai is the youngest, also whose movies are most avant-garde.

The Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents was established with the purposes of designing and implementing programs to assist and develop movie talents and other activities for the development of Vietnamese cinema.
