The Australian Government is also organising a special classical guitar concert entitled “The Brothers” in HCMC. The two Australian talents Leonard Grigoryan and Joseph Tawardros will share their experience with students of the Conservatory of Music. Apart from them, Vietnamese artists – The Vinh and Thuy Tien will also participate in the concert.

Vietnamese artist The Vinh rose to fame in 2004 and is renowned throughout Vietnam for his ability to play guitar with only one hand. The Vinh is know for playing Tring Cong Son songs.

Thuy Tien plays together with The Vinh in their band Gifts of Tide.

The concert brings together acknowledged masters of the guitar world, whose repertoire crosses cultural and stylistic barriers, from world music, to jazz and classical. Australian Consul General, Mr Graeme Swift said:
“This concert does not only enhance cutural exchanges between Australain and Vietnam, but also provides an opportunity to join with Vietnam to celebrate famous musician Trinh Cong Son on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his death.”
