A Quagmire This Time
Shoshana Wayne Gallery is pleased to present its fifth solo show of new work by Dinh Q. Lê. This new body of work continues the artist’s investigation of memory, specifically how one set of memories replaces another. In a previous series, the artist coupled historic images from the Vietnam War with stills from prominent movies such as Apocalypse Now and Indochine. The assimilation of fiction and reality commented on popular culture’s role in shaping perceptions of the war. A Quagmire This Time explores further how the memory of the Vietnam War is slowly being usurped by the war in Iraq.
