Women’s Museum – Tomorrow
Fri 31 Oct and Sat 01 Nov – 2 days only!
This new exhibition entitled ‘Tomorrow’ is on at the Women’s Museum in Hanoi for 2 days. It features collage art works and letters by women who have been trafficked and other groups at risk of trafficking from five provinces in Vietnam.
In the project women were asked to write a letter to someone in the future, either themselves or any other significant person, to help them envision a life without violence and enslavement. The collages, made from traditional Vietnamese paper and cut up magazines and newspapers represent the aspirations, memories and dreams of the participants. The project aims to humanize victims of trafficking whilst speaking out for an end to the trafficking of women and children in Vietnam.
This project is funded by actionaid and carried out by the Center for Studies and Applied Sciences in Gender – Family – Women – Adolescents (CSAGA) with technical support from ensemble creative training and development.
