British Council’s Awakened Spaces
The British Council is running an exciting competition called ‘Awakened Spaces’ in which they are asking Hanoi residents to identify buildings, streets, and other public spaces that they would like to see transformed or improved.
If this is something that interests for you, then you may want to check out this new website by the CANADIAN CENTRE FOR ARCHITECTURE which accompanys their exhibition Actions: What You Can Do With the City.
It presents 99 actions that have been realized in other urban spaces around the world. Common activities such as walking, playing, recycling, and gardening are pushed beyond their usual definition by the international architects, artists, and collectives featured in the exhibition. Their experimental interactions with the urban environment show the potential influence personal involvement can have in shaping the city, and challenge fellow residents to participate.
