An in-depth musical collaboration between two Danish and two Vietnamese composers, creating and performing new music in Hanoi.
The results of a 3-week collaboration in Hanoi will be performed by Danish and Vietnamese musicians for one night only.

This program is done with the support of CDEF Hanoi.

Calling it ‘a cultural exchange on micro level’, the artists not only present their national and cultural arts and music to one another, but also create new music rooted in both Vietnamese and Danish culture.

Each collaboration, between one Vietnamese and one Danish artist, will present 30 minutes of new music.

Participating artists:

Danish Michael Møller will compose music with Vietnamese Quoc Trung.

This collaboration is the more mainstream of the ScandinAsian Music Alliance. Michael Moller and Quoc Trung describe their music as  a blend of Vietnamese traditional music and Western composition and song writing in a setting of large soundscapes and minimalistic measures. They use ambient music, acoustic western and Vietnamese instruements and Michael Møller sings Danish lyrics.

This collaboration is the more experimental one of the ScandinAsian Music Alliance.

Combining the world of VuNhatTan’s experimental Hanoi soundscapes and noises with Scandinavian melancholy this collaboration will explore the modernity in music where cutting edge improvisations is combined with noisy rock and Vietnamese tradition instruments playing the clear and frosty melodies of the Scandinavian music with the noises of Hanoi moving in and out as if you’re both in Vietnam and in Denmark.
