Bi/multi-lingual outdoor Open-Mic Poetry in the Park (Lenin Park on Dien Bien Phu). Come listen to some readings and perform your self-picked pieces.

A secret love letter to theater and poetry geeks and lovers, general artists, writers and poets:

Darling lovers,

Sneak out to see me at 5pm on Sunday, August the ninth, in twilight before the night falls, on the hot stones of Lenin Park. We’ll watch sunset as we read poems and monologues by the toes of the Lenin statue. Don’t forget to bring me something you wrote in a hurry on a worn piece of paper hiding in your pocket, or heart, whatever, I’ll still be able to find.

Look for me! I’ll read you poetry in the park, performing Shakespeare and ee cummings in both Vietnamese and English, even The Vagina Monologues will be spoken in Vietnamese, I’ll even read you my own love and loveless poems in French, English and Vietnamese, just for Thee. Remember, remember my love, to bring something from you to me.

The Open-Mic Poetry in the Park is simply a personal event put on by Nga Ly Hien Nguyen in conjunction with Hanoi International Theatre Society. It’s not an organized performing event related to any established group or organization.
