Founded in London in 2003 by Swiss artist Anthony Bannwart and Swedish artist Magnus Aronson, Tempography is a video-based, conceptual art project. This exhibition of Tempography features videos submitted primarily by participants from Vietnam.
‘Time’ and ‘movement’ as its primary elements Tempography explores with a collection of videos what is “between photography and cinema/film” . Since 2005 Tempography has received submissions from international active/potential video artists and has developed into a community-oriented project. Tempographs can be described as brief visual impacts creating an atmosphere, an image of thought, rather than telling a story. Previously, Tempography has been exhibited in London (2004), Stockholm (2006), and Seoul (2008) accompanied by lecture, and symposium. The workshop organized in conjunction with this exhibition is open to everyone.
