On the evening of 30 Apr, the people of Hanoi will be able to admire a magnificent fireworks display over the whole city area without having to wait until after New Year or the Đại Festival.

According to the City of Hanoi’s People’s Committee, there will be 5 major locations for the fireworks: Hoàn Kiếm Lake, Old Lenin Park (south of the Nikko Hotel), Hoàng Cầu Lake (Indira Gandhi Park, Láng Hạ St.), Văn Quán Lake (Hà Đông District), and the Thắng Lợi Hotel (Yên Phụ Blvd., just near the Long Biên Bridge on the Hanoi side).

9 Other locations will also host lesser displays of fireworks. They are: Mỹ Đình Stadium, Sóc Sơn Stadium, Sơn Tây communal house, Women Statue (Đan Phượng province), center of Xuân Mai (huyện Chương Mỹ), Phú Xuyên communal house, Ứng Hòa stadium, Thạch Thất stadium and Gia Lâm Sports Center.

The fireworks will last 15 minutes commencing at 21:00 hours on the evening of 30/4. These fireworks will mark the official beginning of the celebration of the 1000 years of Thăng Long – Hà Nội.
