Children’s Photo Contest on the theme of Climate Change: Call for Submissions
Submission Deadline: 10 May

The Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, in collaboration with the Tien Phong Newspaper (Children), organise the contest, calling on children to express their understanding on affects of climate change on our daily life through theỉ lens. Their participation will testify as to the ideas and feelings of children, particularly in those of the age group 11-15, on this important issue for their future.

Beyond being a major donor and an important trading partner, the EU is a stakeholder on global issues such as climate change and environment protection. The renewed sustainable development strategy, adopted by EU leaders in June 2006, reaffirmed the need for global solidarity and recognised the importance of strengthening our work with partners outside the EU, including rapidly developing countries – such as Vietnam – which will have a significant impact on global sustainable development.

The EU thus commits to tackle these issues worldwide through various actions. This event should be seen as an example of how this issue can be developed in an alternative, creative fashion.

The competition runs until 10 May. There will be three main prizes: one first prize with a camera valued at 5,000,000VND; two second prizes with a camera valued at 4,000,000VND each; and four third prizes with an educational gift valued at 3,000,000VND each.
