A new blog on Vietnamese Art & Culture

diaCRITICS is the blog for the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN). DVAN’s aim is to promote artists from the Vietnamese Diaspora whose work in literature, visual art, film and performance art enriches our communities and strengthens ties between Vietnamese across the globe. We undertake to support this body of work through cultural events, exhibits and publications that explore connections between art and society.

diaCRITICS write about anything and everything related to the arts and culture of the Vietnamese in their homeland or in the diaspora. Music, film, literature, fashion, food, visual arts, you name it. We write in English, French, Vietnamese, and anything else handy. Our diaCRITICS include: Anhvu Buchanan, Bao-Long Chu, Rebekah Linh Collins, Thuy Vo Dang, Nguyen Qui Duc, Dan Duffy, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Hai-Dang Phan, Dao Strom, Nora Taylor, Lien Truong, Chuong-Dai Vo & Cam Vu. Think you have what it takes to be a diaCRITIC? Let us know and tell us what makes you a good diaCRITIC. We want diaCRITICS all over the world, writing about everything.

  1. A great idea and much needed…..good critical thought is essential about the plethora of cultural stuff in and around where the Vietnamese diaspora live, congregate and travel. And there is a plethora of intelligent writers in the diaspora who can provide a forum for appreciation, arguement, discussion and comment. It could be one of those blogs that becomes overloaded with downloaders. I’ll be an avid reader
