You are cordially invited to the opening reception of ‘Swell Times’ curated by Tiffany Chung – a two-person exhibition by Rania Ho (China/USA) and Roslisham Ismail, otherwise known as ‘Ise’ (Malaysia).

‘Swell Times’ is an exhibition that examines ideas of ‘perfection’. What is perfection? How do we come to understand what ‘perfection’ is in a world where advertising, media, fashion and technology dictate what we supposedly need and want?

Rania Ho is a practicing artist, a former member of Complete Art Experience Project (CAEP), and one of the founding members of the performance art band, The Contractors. Rania has participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout China and the United States. A former Interval Research Fellow and visiting scholar at Microsoft Research Asia’s Center for Interaction Design in Beijing, she received her M.A. from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout China, Asia, Europe and the United States. She is one of the co-founders of the Beijing storefront art space Arrow Factory.

Roslisham Ismail A.K.A. Ise (1972) graduated from University of Technology MARA, Shah Alam. He is a conceptual artist whose work centers on his personal experience of urban communities and the culture of the populace. He works with comic narratives and collected popular material. He took part in the Instanbul Biennale with Indonesia collaborative Ruangrupa in 2005. In 2006, he was the Australian High Commission artist in resident at the Gunnery Studio, Art Space, Sydney.
