Screening of Kliou the Killer at Press Cafe
Sat 10 Jul, 8 pm
Press Cafe
Press Cafe cordially presents and invites you to the screening of “Kliou the Killer” of director Henri de la Falaise.
This film was considered lost up until a few years ago. It was found in 16 mm black and white (originally shot in two-strip Technicolor, the last film to be photographed in this process). This is a 52 minute silent film of the life of the Moi tribe in the Annamese (now Vietnamese) jungle in Indo-China, centering on the hunt of a mankilling tiger.
Henri de la Falaise (1898-1972), was a French nobleman, translator, film director, film producer, sometimes actor. La Falaise directed at least five motion pictures, among them two exotic productions about primitive life and customs: Kliou the Killer (1934, released 1936, also known as Kliou the Killer Tiger) and Legong: Dance of the Virgins (1933, released 1935, also known as Djanger: Love Rite of Bali).
