TPD Center will organize a program on ‘Bring Vietnamese cinema to the audience’. There will be the screening of the feature film “Ben khong chong” by director Luu Trong Ninh in the agenda of the program.

About Ben khong chong:
Based on the novel by Duong Huong Ben khong chong is one of the successful feature films by director Luu Trong Ninh. The film is about the tragedy that unmarried Vietnamese women had to face during war time when almost all the Vietnamese men were sent to the fighting front with the uncertainty of ever being able to come back. Those women did not have a chance to be mothers and the majority of them had to live a solitary life until death. After the war, despite the peacefulness the country is having, there are still enduring war consequences that have placed a negative impact on the lives of those who survived the war.

Director Luu Trong Ninh also starred in the film. The film was awarded with the A Prize by the Vietnam Cinema Association, and the Silver Lotus Prize at the 2001 National Film Festival.
