Le Pub in XuanDieu is combining beer and books to do something charitable.

For every Tiger draught sold between 6pm and 10pm, the proceeds will be donated to Room to Read’s literacy programme in Hanoi. The idea is simple, one beer will equal one book for a Vietnamese school. Food on the night will be provided by The Oasis Italian Deli and there will be a raffle with prizes that include a two-night stay in the presidential suite at the Melia Hanoi – valued at US$8000.

“Beers for Books” is an initiative that, since February 2009, has created over 80,000 books for children in developing countries via Room to Read. Next up is Vietnam – so go along to enjoy ice cold Tiger beer and provide children throughout the country with some new schoolbooks.
