Seven artists then took the individual perceptions of the participants as inspiration for their work in graphics, painting, illustration and photography, and these works are shown in Deutschlandshop – Vietnam Branch as a diverse panorama. A representative picture of people from a certain country or group is not suggested. Rather visitors to the exhibition are invited to consider their own views about cultural distinctions and needs in a shared world. Discover our shop with our broad selection of products and encounter a piece of Germany through the subjective viewpoint of its residents.
In the exhibition, people who live in Germany speak out. As a starting point, people will be interviewed. People were chosen who, because of their origins or their personal situation, are aware of cultural borders. All interviewees came from German cities in which the variety of cultural experiences available offers the possibility of constantly renegotiating or developing social contracts.
The exhibition is based on the themes addressed by the interviewees: their personal homeland, their relationship with language, their view of Germany, the search for identity and the vision of cultural coexistence.
