Vietnamese Women’s Museum
On the occasion of the 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union, the VWM has the honor to inaugurate and reopen its new permanent exhibition.
In 2007, 12 years after its official opening, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) started the project of reviewing and improving its permanent exhibition.
The VWM has been reworking its displays and approaches, including not only historic references, but as well setting a focus on contemporary aspects of women’s life and gender in different sociocultural settings. Texts and objects unfold their stories in an appealing new exhibition design, employing the use of sound, modern lighting techniques and graphic design, thereby creating a new image of the VWM.
