From Goethe:
Launching the European Music Festival and the celebration of 20 years of diplomatic relations between the EU and Vietnam, Thärichens Tentett bring their unique jazz repertoire to the stage of the Hanoi Opera House.

Thärichens Tentett is one of the hottest German jazz discoveries of recent years. The ensemble, consisting of ten unusual jazz musicians, was founded in 1999 by the pianist Nicolai Thärichen and the singer Michael Schiefel in Berlin. Growing up in a musical family, Thärichen discovered his passion for jazz music early. As composer, songwriter and pianist he is mainly responsible for the sensitive but stirring sound which is rounded out by poems and texts from Dorothy Parker and Ronald D. Laing, among others. The Tentett is notable for its originality and fascinating improvisations, so creating its own unique style of jazz. Pop meets chamber music and big band swing, spiced with the androgynous gentle voice of singer Michael Schiefel.
