Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh Receives ASEAN Award

Nguyen Nhat Anh came to  Thailand to receive the ASEAN Literature Award 2010 for his book “Give me a ticket back to childhood” on 05 Nov.

The ASEAN Literature Award, introduced in 1979 by the Thai Royal Family, aims to honour ASEAN’s popular writers and poets. Since 1996, the award has honoured 13 Vietnamese writers.

Nguyen Nhat Anh is an author of incisive stories for both teenagers and adults. He also works as a teacher, a poet and a correspondent. He has produced a large number of works, including approximately 24 short stories, 2 novel series and some collections of poems. He is regarded as one of the most successful writers for teens.

The novel “Give me a ticket back to childhood” combines the wonderful and vivid childhood memory and the real life of adults. It has received positive reviews from local writers and critics and achived an award from the Vietnamese Writers’ Association in 2009.
