A Night of Vietnamese Rock
Thu 06 Jan 2011, 8 – 11.30 pm
Hanoi Rock City
From Hanoi Rock City:
This is our first big show of the new year and it will showcase three unique bands who compose their own material and carry their own style, charisma and band ambitions. They will bring into the spotlight guitar-shaped evidence of the diverse and punchy scene that has been thriving underground in backstreet cafes, University halls and soundproofed bedrooms since the 60s. Is Rock ‘n’ Roll dead?? Come and find out for yourself!
Two well-known Hanoi bands Golem and Oringchains will get the ball rolling, with Saigon-based trio AKAT headlining the night with an extended hour-long set.
Golem, Hanoi’s only all-female rock line-up formed in 2007 but after recruiting a new vocalist they re-exploded onto the scene in 2010. As a new four, they play a mix of covers and original songs. Sexy, wild and fresh, Golem have been wowing audiences across the North of Vietnam and HRC is thirsty for more!

Oringchains are another local bunch who have been making waves in the capital throughout the last year. They are as skilled as they are prolific which is testament to the level of passion the band pour into their music. Check out some of their excellently executed music videos here:
