You are invited to a debut screening of a 15-minute video documentary “Facing Forward” at Goethe Institut.

About the documentary:
There are more than 12 million people living with disabilities in Vietnam. Many of them are children in rural areas, where access to rehabilitation and educational services is limited. Over and above living with disabilities, their families face challenges such as financial burdens, helplessness, despair and stigmatization.
The documentary “Facing Forward” follows GIZ and local experts in their work with children with disabilities and their families. The film shows the challenges of these families and how parents learn to better understand the special needs of their children and the importance of encouraging and stimulating their development through specially designed interventions.
