You are invited to the video exhibition, “Effervescence” of Michel Nuridsany – a famous writer and an art critic. The exhibition gives us a brief look into the French video art. Poetic, humorous, density, fervid and gentle aspect of all works in the exhibition can demonstrate the effervescence of French video art.
The exhibition is the presentation of works by Véronique Boudier, Hermine Bourgadier, Laurence Cathala, Boris Chouvellon, Florence Girardeau, Leon Thomas, Vincent Mauger, Nicolas Moulin, Elisa Pone, Lionel Sabatti, Nicole Tran Ba Vang and Mathieu Rouget.

“Night of day” (2009). In a large, fixed sitting room, flickering fire gradually destroyed everything. New day came. Everything seemed to have vanished to be recreated in mist of a dream.
“Call of duty” (2009). A game-aholic who played violent games in 4 hours. We only see this person in front of the screen with impassible visage. Hermine Bourgadier shows us through game, the idea of happiness in our consumption society.
“The room” (2006). The artist took a picture of carefully decorated wall paper, which was in her grandfather’s apartment. Then after viewing these pictures for hours, she thought, “If the wall paper change, what will happen?”
“RN 201 (Waved land) (2005). A vegetable field was covered with a piece of plastic making us think of the ocean. With the artist’s experience, he could transform fragments of the reality into a dream by heightening his own profound ego.
“Detail” (1999). Filmed everyday for one year, this video records a man everytime he goes out each morning and gets home in the evening. There is nothing really significant. When put consecutively, these small scenes can make people laugh, but presented rapidly, people start to question themselves: Is life really like that?
