The ‘R’ in R-16 stands for ‘Respect,’ and the number 16 stands for the 16 involved countries that participates in the festival.
R-16 is a large-scale annual festival and Vietnam is chosen to be one of the R16 Regional Elimination. This is not only a contest for Vietnamese youth, but also an opportunity for Vietnam to pick the best seeds to compete at international level, gradually walk Vietnam into international scene and chart her name on Bboy world map. R16 Vietnam is expected to create a fair and top class playground for hiphop-ers all around the country.
Besides Bboy, R16 is also a major competition for 2 genres: Poping and Locking. The Popper and Locker winners from regional elimination will participate in R16 final in Korea.
Schedule:
Day 1: 07 May 2011, 1 – 4 pm
25 Thai Thinh, Dong Da, Hanoi
Content: Popping and Locking elimination. The judges will determine 08 participants of each genre
Day 2: 08 May 2011, 1 – 9 pm
Trinh Hoai Duc, 12 Trinh Hoai Duc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi
Content:
1 – 2 pm: Bboy elimination: showcase performance, determining top 8 by score.
3 – 7 pm:
• Popping and Locking Semi-Final & Final
• Bboy Semi-Final
7 – 8 pm: Bboy Final
8 pm: Award and Closing Ceremony
How to sign up?
To sign up, please send the registration form of crew for individual to: [email protected]
The form includes:
– For individuals: Birth name, Alias, Day of Birth, City, ID number, contact details
– For Bboy crew:
• Crew name
• Photo of the whole crew
• City
• Name and ID number of each crew member (for member who too young to possess ID card, it is possible to enclose birth certificate)
• Contact details of crew leader: Phone number (home and mobile – if possible), address,
email, Y!M, etc. (having more details is welcoming)
Several video clips depicting the crew’s training or the individuals’ (if possible)
A video clip by the crew, introducing the crew generally, the birth and the development, the ambition in this competition
