The Diploma in Multimedia Journalism is a one-year program designed to provide Asian working journalists with a broad perspective and the skills to undertake cross platform multimedia journalistic projects. It combines both theoretical and practical approaches with lectures and discussions as well as hands-on exercises and projects.
Applications for admission are being accepted until 6 May 2011 for the program’s first offering which begins in June.
Courses:
The program comprises seven courses, including a capstone project including: Fundamentals of Multimedia Journalism, Newsgathering for Multimedia, Mobile Journalism, Convergence Theory, Multi Platform Practice, Interactive Media Literacy and Multimedia Journalism Project.
Mode of Instruction and Schedule:
The Diploma in Multimedia Journalism, a distance learning program via the Internet, has been specially designed to allow working journalists to study and work at the same time. The courses are conducted either entirely online or using a fusion of online and on-campus methods, ie hybrid courses. The hybrid courses – Fundamentals in Multimedia Journalism and the Multimedia Journalism Project – include one-week on-campus class sessions held at the Ateneo de Manila University campus in Quezon City, Philippines. Students are introduced to the principles and methods of online learning prior to the start of the program. Online classes are held using Blackboard, an online learning management system.

Scholarships
ACFJ offers 10 scholarships (full and partial grants) to applicants who have qualified for admission, on a competitive basis. Please see eligibility requirements on the scholarship form.
