Red Cross Appeal Fundraiser by International Business Committee

From Australian Chamber of Commerce & Canadian Chamber of Commerce:
A joint fund-raising event to support the victims is being organized by. Auscham and CanCham in conjunction with the Japanese Business Association supported by the other local chambers including Korean Chamber of Commerce & Industry, American Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce’s ( BeluxCham, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Nordic ), Hong Kong Business Association, Singapore Business Association and tentatively awaiting the British Business Council of Vietnam, Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dress: Business Attire or Smart Casual, the format will be a standing business event where there will be light refreshments served, sponsored by Grand Plaza Hotel, Six Star Provisions, Coca Cola, and Metro Cash and Carry.

The program will include presentations on the health, economic, and social issues facing Japan and Pacific regions by the following experts; Doctors from SOS Medical Practice, Dr. Graham Harrison Acting Representative of the World Health Organization, Mr Benedict Bingham – Country Representative of the International Monetary Fund, and a live video presentation from the Japan International Broadcasting Corporation and a moment of silence to honor the victims. Entry fee will be 500 000 VND (voluntary) and there will be donation boxes throughout the ballroom with 100% of the proceeds to given to the Japanese Red Cross Appeal Bank Account, established by the Japanese Embassy and the Government of Vietnam to expedite the funds transfer to further the relief.

There will be neither lucky draws nor raffles held, the event will be simple and somber gathering by the international business community to raise funds and show our support for those affected by this horrific tragedy.
