Here is a special treat that we have been waiting for a long time: a new solo exhibition by artist Nguyen Minh Thanh.
The exhibition is titled exhibition “Clouds of The Old Days”.

Artist Nguyen Minh Thanh shares his idea about his exhibition “Clouds of The Old Days”:
On the first day that I came to Laithe village, I passed the temple and I noticed mighty pillars with meticulous bas-relief patterns, most of them were clouds. The clouds appear somewhat densely on the pillar. Here and there in almost all temples, mausoleums, or ancient houses in the region of Hue, the clouds are always included in the decoration. The clouds some how are too much, but they also seem to be forgotten in these modern days.

Hence I borrow the images of these ancient clouds for my works, with a little hope that they would come back from the old days to beautify our soul and our life, again.

My wish is that these old clouds will make the present day more honorable, at this very moment, right here where I’m making these works.
