Douglas Jardine, a professor at Hanoi University, will continue his series of monthly lectures with a focus on the history and meanings of Long Biên Bridge.
Long Biên Bridge is over 100 years old and has survived revolution and the anger of the American Air Force through time, from its creation by the French in the early 20th century to now. This lecture will also explore how today the Long Biên Bridge creates a social space for those who have been left behind in Vietnam’s economic miracle.
