The European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) network in Hanoi organizes the 3rd International Festival of Documentary Film in Vietnam in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This year’s Festival theme is: “A country without documentary films is like a family with no photo albums” (quote from Chilean filmmaker Patricio Guzman).

EUNIC is the global network “European Union of National Institutes for Culture“. The EUNIC headquarters is in Brussels, with local associations in 53 countries, from A for Afghanistan to V for Vietnam: Since November 2010 eight European Institutes and Embassys are united in the EUNIC cluster in Hanoi in order to promote the variety of European culture and the European-Vietnamese cultural dialogue: The Cultural Institutions British Council, Goethe-Institut, L´Espace, the Delegation Wallonie-Bruxelles and the cultural sections of the Embassies of Austria, Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands. The joint activities in May and June are: The European Literature Day and the European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival. Further projects in this year are the European Dance Days (8th and 9th September) as well as the Week of European Languages in October.
