From Hanoi Rock City:
At HRC this Friday night we are making an event, ‘Glaston Noi’ with live music (Scott Ezell), DJs (Slo Lo, Dirty Fingrz, The Only Living Boy in Hanoi), food, magic, visuals (UE Studios), fashion, hours of high quality live video footage from Glastonbury 2011 on big outdoor screens, and many more festive activities.
For more information see below:
Out with the Bury and in with the City of The Rising Dragon! Make some noise for GLASTON NOI: Vietnam’s answer to one of the world’s most famous and revered contemporary arts festivals, Glastonbury, which took place last weekend. This year’s line-up was such a cracker that we couldn’t help but throw a big party in its honour.
We’ll be doing it the Hanoian way of course: which means, first and foremost, we’re turning up late – a week late, in fact : meaning Glaston Noi will take place on 1st July. Special tents including a magic tent, circus tent, Vietnamese food tent, and fortune teller tent will be set up, along with large outdoor-screen projections of this year’s live festival footage, and various other bohemian-spirited activities.
Up in The Red Room, dazzling visuals at the hand of VJ Matt “Nom Cognom Cognom” will breathe trippy life into three DJ sets: SLO LO, DIRTY FINGRZ, and special guest THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN HANOI on his final disc-spinning night at HRC before heading back to the US. These guys will crank up the Glaston Noi vibe with sets that will recall some of the best indie, rock, electro, hip hop and dub acts who performed at the festival this year: everything from Morrissey to Wu Tang Clan, Radiohead to Chase and Status, from Coldplay to Skream, Pendulum to Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Bragg to BB King, and DJ Shadow to Cee Lo Green.
The night also includes a live folk performance from Hanoi-based singer/songwriter Scott Ezell. In true Glaston style, there will be additional, secret, special guests announced over the coming days.
And if we’re really, really lucky, it might even rain….
