New Timeline of Yxine Film Fest

Extended deadline for YxineFF submission: 15 Sept 2011
Releasing new website with film screening from 2010 season

From YxineFF (Yxine Film Fest):
According to the preliminary timeline, the second edition of YxineFF themed BELIEF receives film entries from 29/05/2011 to 28/08/2011. However, to give the students a chance to submit their film also after their start of school/university, as well as to attract more high-qualitative films which deserve being selected and awarded, the film selection committee extends the deadline for submission until 15/09/2011. As a consequence, the screening timeline of YxineFF 2011 will be changed as follows: The opening screening will be on 30/09/2011 (old date: 02/09/2011); the closing screening, winners announcement and award ceremony will be on 12/12/2011 (old date: 31/12/2011). The venue for the award ceremony is the MegaStar Cineplexes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Moreover, the official website 2.0 of YxineFF 2011 is released at www.yxineff.com from 16/08/2011. The new version of the website provides updated information about the online short film festival, the juries, rules and regulations, terms and conditions, awards, sponsors,… with user-friendly design and bilingual Vietnamese-English menu will help you find any information.

A special impression is the official promo video clip at the homepage themed “Belief”, with presence of many well-known faces from the film business like actress Hong Anh, actress Ngo Thanh Van, actress Le Khanh, actor Khuong Ngoc, actor Luong Manh Hai, or director Phan Dang Di, director Charlie Nguyen, as well as two members of the Jury: producer Jenni Trang Le and cinematographer Nguyen Nam, which transmits a message about Belief in and Love for the Cinema in a subtle and meaningful way. In addition, all the 54 films including award-winners from the official selection of YxineFF 2010 are screened again. Therefore, the website also becomes a source for entertainment for the audience and presents more new talents of Vietnamese cinema to the public.

The online short film festival YxineFF (Yxine Film Fest) takes place on www.yxineff.com. With the slogan “Sharing. Love. Cinema.”, indie filmmakers and movie buffs are the targets of YxineFF.

The second edition of YxineFF will take place from September to December 2011 with short film screenings in three sections: Competition, Panorama and In Focus. YxineFF is now calling for submission from filmmakers all over the world.

YxineFF 2011 will give the following awards: Golden Heart, Red Heart, New Heart, Green Heart and Fire Heart as well as several individual awards. The jury board for the main Competition: director Bui Thac Chuyen (chair), actress Hong Anh, cinematographer Nguyen Nam, producer Jenni Trang Le and author/blogger Truong Quy.

YxineFF 2011 thankfully has MegaStar as its official partner and Blue Productions, HK Film, DanaFilm, VietComFilm, EcoAid, Lequyduong, Double Tree and Egregius as its offical supporters.

YxineFF’s first edition started in May 2010. YxineFF is a voluntary, non-profit and independent project.

In October 2010, the YxineFF project and its founder – Marcus Manh Cuong Vu – were the 1st runner-up for the International Young Screen Entrepreneur Award 2010 – 2011 of British Council Vietnam.
