In the framework of Y Viet 2011 and on the occasion of the XI Edition of the Italian Language Week in the World, the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam presents “Omaggio all’Italia”, a meeting about the influence of Italy on the field of Music, Football and Fashion designed to give Vietnamese audience an insight on Italian culture.


These sectors are the most distinctive and the most peculiar of Italy and its culture, they made our country famous all over the world and, still now, Italy continues expressing them to the highest degrees. During this meeting, divided in 3 sections, three Vietnamese personalities that come from the world of Music, Football and Fashion will present their point of view and how they are persuaded by these.

In the first section Prof. Nguyen Dai Dong, expert on History of Western Music, from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, will talk about Italian music and the singer Vu Manh Dung, baritone, professor at Vietnam National Academy of Music and lead singer at Vietnam National Opera & Ballet (VNOB), will perform some aria from Italian Opera.

The second session will be devoted to the presentation of the latest book of Mr. Anh Ngoc, a sports correspondent from the newspaper “The thao & Van hoa”, entirely focused on Italian football. He will explain the link between Vietnamese people and the most famous sport of Italy.

During the third session Minh Hanh, a Vietnamese fashion designer from Ho Chi Minh City, will held seminar through which show how Italian fashion and creativity have influenced the idea of Fashion in Vietnam and she will speak about her contact with the Italian Fashion world and her inspirations captured from Italian glamour. Creative Director of VIETMODE Co., she is the leading figure in Vietnam’s new fashion industry. She specializes in hybridizing traditional designs with modern clothing and her work is known all over the word.
