From DAAD:
On November 6th, 2011, the German Fest is on from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. at the Vietnamese-German Centre (VDZ) on the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) campus. Initiated by the German Embassy in Hanoi and co-organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Goethe Institute and the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA), the event targets everyone interested in German culture, young and old, pupils, students, scholars, German culture newcomers and old hands.

The German Fest offers an entertaining, multifaceted program for the entire family: German trial lessons, various quiz shows and competitions (prizes prizes prizes!) on one hand, information booths and presentations on the other.
German food and drinks will be available also.

Anyone interested is welcome to experience and enjoy a piece of Germany in Hanoi.

The festival will especially hold a Science Slam: Science Wrapped up and Entertaining

Science Slams have gained much popularity in Germany. Young scientists are given the opportunity to present their academic topics and projects to an interested audience in a brief and entertaining manner. For this reason, the German Academic Exchange Service have organized a Science Slam as part of the program of the “Deutschlandfest” taking place at the Vietnamese-German Centre at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology on November 6th, 2011.

A Science Slam is a presentation contest, in which young academics present results of their own research. For this competition, an enlightening and creative style of presenting the work of research is even more important than content. There is no limit to research topics or to the type of academic field. Master theses, doctoral dissertations and research projects can be presented in German, English or Vietnamese.

Every participant has 10 minutes to enthuse the audience with the presentation of their academic work and research. A jury of experts and the audience will choose the Science Slam winner in the end, who will be awarded a Dell Laptop (Vostro 1014).
