Workshop on Heritage and Museum Images

Within the cooperation framework between Vietnam and Wallonie-Bruxelles from 2010 to 2012 on “Building Protection for heritage photographs in Vietnam”, the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage – Ministry Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Association of Photography artists organized a workshop on “The role of heritage and museum images in contemporary life.”

Photographs are part of the historical, cultural, scientific and artistic heritage of Vietnam. So far this legacy has not been protected strategically. Vietnam in particular and mankind in general will be in great disadvantaged if such heritage is being eroded by forgetfulness or from the lack of protection from involved agencies and organizations. So in order to protect, introduce and use them to serve society is essential. Photographs should be accessible to the public. They are the condition and opportunities for lifelong learning and enjoyment of public art.

This workshop is for the purpose of sharing international experience in the identification of heritage in general and Heritage Photos in Vietnam in particular. This is the first time the issue of heritage photographs is addressed and encourage communities collect, store and protect heritage values ​​in Vietnam pictures.
