Celebrating the opening of Hanoi’s newest venue, Saigon’s king of the beats DJ Jaseis set to rock the capital on January 14. To mark the arrival of CAMA’s new venue ATK, Jase is going to play an Old-Skool Hip Hop set with some tangents into Ragga, Uk Funky, Future Garage, and other Bass heavy genres. Expect fine beats.

A long-time CAMA collaborator and the man behind the Saigon bass scene, Jase is a Vietnam native who spent his formative late-teens in Australia where collaborations with Sydney’s infamous Foreign Dub Crew got him heavily into jungle, DnB and all things bass. When he returned to Vietnam it didn’t take him long to hook up with CAMA on a host of shows including Onra, Ratatat and Spikey Tee. Fast-forward 5 years and Jase’s Saigon club night, The Beats Saigon is regularly attracting top notch talent from around the globe. Recent acts of note include Slugabed from consistently excellent label Ninjatune, Berlin’s Doshy, and D&B legend RSD.

One part gig venue, two parts underground bar with a splash of speakeasy and topped with twist of art space, ATK is looking to set itself apart from the crowd. Having already brought over 70 international acts to Hanoi, CAMA intend ATK to provide a cultural space to promote music and art of all stripes in a friendly, smoke free environment.
