The punk rock scene in China grew exponentially last decade with grand-daddies like P.K. 14 making waves in America and in Hanoi, headlining the CAMA Festival. The epicentre of the movement is undoubtedly the capital; less glamorous than Shanghai but bubbling over with creative energy and underground cool. In Beijing Bubbles two Berlin filmmakers go on a ramble through the musical underground of Beijing meeting people who introduce them to the punk rock subculture which is their passion. Center stage of the film then is not only the music, but also the attitude to life of the young musicians who make it within the confines of a society constructed along similar lines to that of Vietnam.

Languages: English and Chinese with English subtitles.
