Goethe-Institute invites you to a short film night including a lecture by Heinz Hermanns, director of Interfilm Berlin, one of the most renowned short film festivals worldwide. From animation to experimental short film – Heinz Hermanns presents the newest and most interesting short films shown at recent short film festivals and gives an overview of the history and the development of short film. Enjoying an entertainment evening with inspiring short films from around the world!
Heinz Hermanns was born in Duisburg, Germany. He studied Politics in Berlin, Germany, and in Italy. He has been the director of Interfilm Berlin since the internationally renowned festival’s founding; in addition to this Hermanns co-directed the short film festival”Pollicino” in Catania, Italy/Sicily from 1990 to 1996. He is the director and co-founder of the super short film festival „Going Underground“, which is held in the trains of the Berlin subway, and, since 2011, also in the subway of Seoul, South Korea. He also is the co-founder and curator of Zebra Poetry Short Film Festival, a bi-annual festival which has been presenting short films inspired by poetry since 2002.
