PROJECT BLACK returns this month with its fifth documentary of Vietnamese artists excluded from the mainstream. This time we are showing “CONTAMINATION “ featuring Dang Xuan Hung who having quit his very successful career as an interior designer now has become a full time artist to express what concerns him most.

This is the pollution in the modern world both in the physical environment and also the interior world of our mind. He captures this in large distressing canvasses that seem to evoke the depths of the Buddhist hell while he himself maintains a strict almost Zen like self discipline. We follow him on one day of his life from the early morning run along the Red River to the depth of this interior Hell he creates in his studio.
