British a capella group Black Voices are to perform in Vietnam to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Black Voices have entertained presidents including Nelson Mandela, the Late Pope, most of the members of the British Royal Family and have shared the stage with musical greats including Ray Charles and Nina Simone.
Over their 24 years, Black Voices has steadily built up a reputation for delivering stunning performances through a soulful and inspirational harmonic blend. Their ever-growing repertoire includes spiritual, traditional African,Caribbeanand English folk songs as well as jazz, gospel, pop and reggae.
The group has worked with a mix of composers and arrangers from theUKin extending the range and diversity of its musicality, as well as Mark Kibble of American gospel sextet Take 6.
Black Voices have been invited by British Council Vietnam with support from DiageoVietnam to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Their first public show inVietnam will be in Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, 7 Cong truong Lam Son, District 1 on 20 May at 8.00pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony and Orchestra Office.

Black Voices last performance will be to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Reception on 22 May 2012 at an invitation-only event at HMA residence. They will also deliver master classes for singers at Vietnam National Academy of Music and Vietnam National Opera and Ballet inHanoiand for singers at the Music Conservatory and the Ballet, Symphony & Orchestra in HCMC.
