Sven VT, who shows himself a passionate house and techno DJ along 15 years of his DJing career, has conquered the decks at every respected club in Berlin. Now, he is focusing on writing new music, as well as playing his monthly residency at Watergate, one of the most well-known clubs in Berlin.

Sven von Thülen started djing in 1997. Coming a long way from jungle and drum and bass, he finally rediscovered his love to house and techno, which had cooled down (after a short but passionate period of home taping early rave classics from the radio at the late 80s and early 90s) in his angry years of adolescence. In 1999 he started to work at De:Bug magazine, one of Germanys leading magazines for electronic music and eventually became an editor there
One year later, he got his first residency at Berlins renowned club WMF and soon he conquered the decks at every respected club in Berlin. At the WMF he also met Fritz Zander with which he formed Zander VT in 2006, releasing several praised 12 inches on Bpitch Control and its sister label Memo. In 2011 followed the first solo-release on Berlin’s Suol, his new home-based. 2011 also saw the end of Zander VT, both concentrating on solo efforts. Sven focused on writing an oral-history about Berlin’s emergent techno scene in the late 80s and early 90s called “Der Klang Der Familie” (alongside ex-De:Bug colleague Felix Denk), which will be published on April 2nd by Germany’s renowned publisher Suhrkamp Verlag and is now back in the studio working on new music for Suol and playing his monthly residency at Watergate.
