From Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam:
This year, the European Film Festival will see the largest number of screenings as fourteen European Union Member States will be presenting films to this event. The festival, featuring 15 long films and 6 short films from 14 European countries, will be opened in Hanoi on 16 May, in Ho Chi Minh city on 17 May and in Danang on 18 May 2012. Wishing to reach out to a wider range of audiences in Vietnam, this year, for the first time ever, the festival is also organized in the central city of Danang.
Held for the first time in 2000, the Festival has become a permanent feature on the cultural calendars of both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This year, for the first time, the Festival will be introduced in the Central City of Da Nang.
Recognized as one of the most successful multi-cultural events in Vietnam, the aim of this Festival is to portray the diversity of European cinema to the Vietnamese public, thus contributing to an enhanced mutual understanding between the peoples of Vietnam and the European Union
The 2012 Festival features an extensive and diverse range of films including Oscar winning films and special children short films, with a view to cater to an even wider audience.
