From Goethe Institut:

Hertha Miessner, Susanne Wackerbauer andTraude Linhardt live and work in Munich, Germany. Each of them having her own way of life and her own style and art production frequently come together for joint projects and exhibitions. They share the artistic engagement to transform visual objects into abstract, serial and highly artificial compositions.

Hertha Miessner is using elements of traditional art-techniques only in order to put them into new contextualizations and combine them with modern technologies. Thus she is reinterpreting elements of western history of art, confronting the traditional with the most advanced technical developments.

Susanne Wackerbauers series and collections always have as their core items architectural and sculptural elements. She strives to give a halt to the time fluidum by showing the continuous change and continuous movements in the process of life. Save and collect is over and over again the main focus in the artist’s work.

Traude Linhardt is a sculptor and uses as a basis torso-shaped structures made from iron strings, which are covered with different materials. Her materials like beewax, jute or asian papers, thus reflecting archaic models, are being confronted with modern recycling materials like plastic, film or audiotapes. This juxtaposition marks the shape of each torso in its different sizes.

Free admission.
