Christian Schumann
Christian Schumann was born in Freiburg to Hungarian parents and had his first piano lessons at the age of six. While still a schoolboy, he was accepted for preparatory classes in piano, conducting and music theory at the Freiburg Conservatory. After completing high school, he began his studies in conducting and composition at the Franz Liszt Conservatory, graduating in 2007.
At 27 years of age, Christian Schumann is considered one of Germany’s young shooting stars. Immediately upon completing his studies he obtained a position at Theater St. Gallen, and he debuted in March of this year at the Bavarian State Opera. In addition he has already led such internationally renowned orchestras as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra und the Philharmonia Orchestra London. In Vietnam he is appearing for the third time as guest conductor with the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Nguyen Quoc Bao
Nguyen Quoc Bao started his clarinet study at the music conservatories of Hanoi under the guidance of his father, Prof. Nguyen Lam, at age of 10. With the support of Prof. Vu Thach he obtained a scholarship by the Conservatoire of Moscow in 1984. He continued his studies at the Tchaikovsky Music Conservatory and completed it under the supervision of Prof. Lev Mikhailov (1936 – 2003) in 1994. Quoc Bao performed in many cities around the world: Hanoi, Hochiminh City, Russia, France, USA, Japan and Sweden. Today, he works as a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and plays the First Clarinet in the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.
Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra – Vietnam National Academy of Music
The Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the best orchestras in Vietnam. At present, the Orchestra comprises of professors, lecturers and good students of Vietnam National Academy of Music. Many musicians graduated from many well-known international music conservatories: National Conservatory P.I. Tchaikovsky (Russia), National Conservatory N. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg (Russia). The Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra performs annually with foreign guest conductors. Every year, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra plays several concerts not only in the capital Hanoi, but also in different provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Haiphong, Hue, HCMC.
