From the organizer: You are invited to an exhibition “Mind Scenery” by artist MI JUNG PARK (Korea). According the artist “Even though time is constantly flowing the hands of a clock will be at the same point at a certain time every day. Because of this we do not always recognize changes until they have already occurred. In my life I feel it is important to pay close attention to unexpected memories and the reason for their arrival.

Memories often change over time. In my art, I try to capture images and objects before they fade into oblivion. In my painting, I try to represent the hidden dimension in time. The hidden dimension exists in how our perception and feelings about things change. These uncanny moments are daily occurrences to me. These moments inspire my work. I have visited many places including U.S.A, Eastern and Western Europe, and a few Asian countries. Through these trips, I have been inspired by both beautiful people and incredible art and realized that art is the most important thing in my life. I try to show the intense gazes of everyday people in everyday life. These people, scenes, and objects exist as they are seen in the painting for only a brief moment. Often my painting shows the same person sat at the same table only in different chairs and at different time. I would like to show that this ironic combination of people and objects produces dual spaces and may seem unfamiliar and abstract but its purpose is to be thought-provoking and to explore deeper levels of the dimension of time.”
