From Hanoi Rock City:
Moon Festival weekend is set to become the centre point for visual art and bass culture in the capital at the the launch of [Bass Streets] parties on Sat 29th Sept.
Gravitating to Hanoi’s heavy beat playground to headline with live sets are two cutting-edge, international beat makers from California, USA, Sleeve↓ and Demon Slayer, who will be supported by special guests Unconventional Science and Dirty Fingrz, plus local visual artists S5Crew.
Sleeve ↓ (San Diego) is everything a beats producer should be – boundary pushing, genre-squeezing and committed to live performance in a way that will suck your minds from here to hallow Earth, then blast them into outer space. Sleeve↓ has been gaining glowing hype in California for his psychedelic beats and incredible live sets. Fresh from dropping his album ‘Put a Pinch Into The Pipe’ on Liquid Geometry this month, Sleeve↓ has a select number of Asia shows and we are delighted to have snapped him up for a one-off performance at ‘Bass Streets’ in the capital. Pulling inspiration from his love of the existential, his new album also features killer remixes by Lucid, Misk and Demon Slayer. Don’t miss this. Sleeve↓ is one to watch.
Demon Slayer (Los Angeles), currently based in Saigon, has been a bass-wrapped blessing for Vietnam’s progressive electronic scene, becoming a popular favourite also in Hanoi with a series of successful capital gigs alongside fine acts such as The Beats Saigon founder Jase (Vietnam), L.A.’s Unconventional Science and a headlining performance with Shanghai’s R3 at the Official CAMA Festival 6 After Party @ HRC. Co-founder of California’s Beat Cinema, muralist, producer and creative directive Demon Slayer has performed and been involved with many talented and acclaimed individuals and groups such as Fools Gold, Daedelus, Gaslamp Killer, Steve Aoki, Teebs, Barry McGee, and D-Styles. An accomplished composer and seasoned stage performer, Demon Slayer is an artist characterised by his genre-expanding practice. The man and his machines will fly into Hanoi straight from his Australia tour.
