UPDATE: There are some reasons, this exhibition “Orange Vital” of artist BERTRAND PERET cannot make open ceremony at 5pm on 29 September 2012. We “New Space Arts Foundation” are really sorry for this sudden situation and we hope you will give sympathy to us.

From the organizer:

You are invited to the exhibition by French artist Bertrand Peret. The artist told about his exhibition ” In spring 2011, the Arab world takes up in arms, rebellion is brewing up, peoples rise up, some people sacrifice themselves in the name of justice and respect of the fundamental human values. Atop barricades liberty is showing the way to the oppressed.

In spring 2011, media flare up violently, the world is irretrievably changing. The images are striking. Huge crowds shout their sufferings and their hopes. Those spectacular spectacles bring forth incredible force. That shouting, those crowds, those peoples are one and the same. An only breath, a powerful voice brimming with optimism resounds behind our screens. Screens crack, yield acid colours. Orange blood. They give us a glimpse of new horizons, new hopes. Frontiers collapse. Life is rushing ahead.

Before my computer, I gather pictures, look deeply into the heart of the crowds, any crowds. I dig, the Arab world is no longer the issue, no longer the only one, at least. Far and wide, towns and cities are set ablaze. Fire is spreading. I zoom, looking for faces, anonymous faces, the faces of those who struggle, faces injured and covered with blood. Faces of men, women and children. Actually, those faces I am searching might bear some likeness, I mean between them, but with me, maybe, too, I do not know.As a matter-of-fact a likeness not strictly tied to the similar physical marks of a recent fight, no, rather in their expression. I linger over this point, the same expression in their faces. I pinpoint it on that border where rage has outdone suffering. Beyond that border, however sharp the physical suffering, the latter seems to fade and vanish.. Indeed, flesh has been hit, but it is only the first envelo! pe, the first layer. Blows have finally reached and set afire something more intimate, more abstract. They have stimulated an essential force lying dormant in every single man– a drive of life, a primary drive. Indeed, giving up as easily is not conceivable, no way. Even when the body is deeply damaged, it will not surrender. The survival instinct is stronger. As death hits out at man, life hits back, neither givingin nor abdicating.”
