Most crafty people will enjoy the exhibition and some with an arty inclination will be appreciative. Lots of designers will be impressed. Here are a few more bits that indicate their practical application potential:

The fabric display reminded me of another artist who used to live in Hanoi and exhibit with Art Vietnam. Marita Nurmi spent time in a West African art residency and fell head over heels with the printed fabrics worn by the women there. This inspired her to take some of her own art designs to India and have them transferred onto fabric that was displayed as textile and clothing at her last exhibition. In fact both Marita and gallery owner Suzanne Lecht were decked out in Marita’s funky outfits at the opening.

Maritta’s textiles are currently on display in an exhibition in Finland.

Kiem Van Tim is a keen observer of life in general and the Hanoi cultural scene in particular and offers some of these observations to the Grapevine. KVT insists that these observations and opinion pieces are not critical reviews. Please see our Comment Guidelines / Moderation Policy and add your thoughts in the comment field below.
